On his arrival at Patna Sahib, Pir Bhikan Shah offered two bowls of milk, signifying both the Great Religions of Hinduism and Islam, before the Divine Child. The Divine Child placed his holy hands on both the bowls. The Mystic Pir bowed in utter humility and reverence to the New Prophet of all humanity. A true sikh yearns for martyrdom and a heroic death on the battlefield because martyrdom has been blessed by his Beloved Gurus, Sri Guru Arjan Sahib, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib. Actually, seldom has martyrdom been so beautifully and passionately blessed and glorified as by the House of Guru Nanak. Sikhs yearned and vied with each other for a holy participation in this Cosmic Sacrifice. The Prophets, the Saviours and the Redeemers come to save and redeem the creation. In redeeming and saving the mankind they take upon themselves all human suffering and sacrifice everything. Sri Guru Amar Das Ji had prayed -
Guru Nanak the Third firstly prays to the Almighty Lord to save the World on fire and secondly embraces in His loving folds all religions of the world and prays for universal welfare. Consequently Guru Nanak the Fifth Sri Guru Arjan Sahib sits on fire Himself to save the world on fire and Guru Nanak the Ninth offers Himself for martyrdom to save a whole Religion, to save a whole nation thereby. Such unique and marvellous is the Eternal Glory of Guru Nanak and of the Great Religion of Universal Love founded by Him.
When pandits of Kashmir, subjected to untold persecution and tyranny, approached Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib for protection, the most compassionate Guru had shown a unique mercy characteristic of the House of Guru Nanak.
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib at that time said, Supreme sacrifice by a Mahan Pursh was the need of the hour. Divine Child Guru Gobind Singh had then said, There was no greater Mahan Pursh than Guru Tegh Bahadur. The mission of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib was abundantly clear at that very minor and
tender age. He was born with a holy mission of total sacrifice. It was clear that He would
sacrifice everything for the sake of Truth and for the sake of oppressed ones. That Holy
Spirit of total sacrifice blazed like a powerful and mighty magnet throughout His short
span of life, attracting martyrs in unlimited human waves. With one powerful divine call
on the auspicious day of Baisakhi he attracted thousands of selfless, patriotic, totally
devoted and dedicated divine lovers ready to sacrifice every thing for the sake of their
beloved Satguru. The time needed the greatest sacrifices of all times and the holy mission
of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib was to raise, mould and fashion the holy inputs for such a
unique cosmic sacrifice. |
