This unique powerful stroke became the most powerful shaping factor in the regeneration of a whole culture and in the emergence of a new Nation. It was a Mighty Stroke of the Divine which deeply touched and moved every heart and has left a most powerful and perpetual spiritual legacy. In True Love, True Devotion, True Bhagti, True Saranagti one gives oneself away unto the Beloved. A True Lover sacrifices everything for the Beloved without seeking any return thereof. Fake, selfish, pretended love for the Divine is neither true Bhakti nor true Saranagti. False and pretended show of love amounts to spiritual death. The Great Guru demanded a head. Only five in a mammoth congregation of thousands rose and offered their heads in loving devotion to their Lord of Love, in total subjection of their will to the Divine Purpose (Hukam Maniey Paaiey). In obedience to the Holy Command of the Guru, they gave themselves away in Loving and Devoted Service to Him. In return of this human offer which is, perforce, limited to human capacity, Guru gives Himself away unto these five Beloved ones. He gives to them to His unlimited, boundless capacity and elevates them to the chosen Five Immortals of the Order of the Khalsa and that also for Eternity.
